{Baby Chicks}

As a mother of 4 my life is busy in a way I could never understand as a young mother of 1 or 2. As my children get older, life gets more and more filled with this, that and the other.

When I had only a couple kids, i had plenty of time to cuddle, read and kill time with my littles.

More kids = less time at the expense of my littlest two.

Our baby chicks don't stay baby chicks for very long and I feel like time is slipping away from me.

The other day as I was getting ready Camden had taken her post on my bed to watch cartoons.

Before long she fell asleep. She was freshly bathed, smelled delectable and was only wearing her diaper. {for the record, that is the perfect combination to snuggle against}

Before I climbed in next to her, I opened up all curtains and blinds in my room,

filled it up with tons of light,

and snapped some shots so I could remember this day,

this moment forever.

My chicks are my world, my life, my reason for being.

The warmth, love, and trust of this little chick keeps this mama moving.

I am such a lucky gal to be able to call these guys family. I have known Stephen since he was 12 years old and watched him grow up to be a wonderful, hardworking husband and father. And he picked the coolest girl to marry. Natalie is so much fun and I love having her as a sister in law. And she is my hair stylist and is AMAZING!!!

Their daughter Marlie is the spunkiest, funniest little girl and I love her to pieces. It was such a pleasure for me to be able to take their family pictures!!!

{Trost Family}

The Mr. and I recently packed up our clan and set off on an adventure.

Our destination: Bristow, Virginia where my parents live.

Yep, we drove across the country.

Where we crazy?

Perhaps.

Was is a trip we will never forget?

Absolutely!

I was able to talk my family into a photo shoot on Christmas Day of all days.

This was the first time we have all been together as a family for Christmas in 8 years.

I wanted to document it.

So here we are......Enjoy!!!

Oh, how I love my family!!!

{First Born}

My father once told me that he didn't love me the most, he didn't love one of us more than the others, but he had loved me the longest.

I loved that. It made me feel so important to him.

I feel the same way about my Sydney.

I've loved her the longest.

She made me a mother and Nick a father.

All of our parenting hiccups have occurred on her watch, but also every 'first' came with her as well.

She is one of most beautiful young ladies I know. Inside and out. I feel like to be a first born in some ways you have to be stronger than the rest to follow. A lot of responsibility falls on the oldest's shoulders. As much as she struggles with this challenge, she also surprises me with her poise and maturity.

I am sure my Heavenly Father sent me Sydney first for many reasons.

I adore her.

I cherish her.

Over the weekend we took a day to spend, just the 2 of us. We shopped for the perfect outfits for her birthday shoot. And we shot some of my favorite pictures of her EVER. 11 years went by when I blinked.
