{First Born}

My father once told me that he didn't love me the most, he didn't love one of us more than the others, but he had loved me the longest.

I loved that. It made me feel so important to him.

I feel the same way about my Sydney.

I've loved her the longest.

She made me a mother and Nick a father.

All of our parenting hiccups have occurred on her watch, but also every 'first' came with her as well.

She is one of most beautiful young ladies I know. Inside and out. I feel like to be a first born in some ways you have to be stronger than the rest to follow. A lot of responsibility falls on the oldest's shoulders. As much as she struggles with this challenge, she also surprises me with her poise and maturity.

I am sure my Heavenly Father sent me Sydney first for many reasons.

I adore her.

I cherish her.

Oh, how I LOVE her!!!!!

Over the weekend we took a day to spend, just the 2 of us. We shopped for the perfect outfits for her birthday shoot. And we shot some of my favorite pictures of her EVER. 11 years went by when I blinked.

I had the chance to go shoot this darling little gal yesterday. She was perfect.

Wide awake and happy. And oh so sweet. I was loving holding

that little one close. She even fell asleep at the end of the shoot. She was all tuckered out.

It was a joy to shoot her. Per parents are so lucky to have her.

I know I still have to take a bunch of birthday pics of my kids, each and

every one of them, but I had to share these of Sophie. I was experimenting with backlit pictures and used Sophie as my model since her hair still looked cute and she seemed put together. {that isn't always the case with Stinker Bell}

I was so happy with the result I decided to post them.

I had the chance to go visit my cousin Cori, and her husband Rob and their adorable new baby Eleanor Hannah.

She is sheer perfection and I wanted to cuddle her sweet smell all day.

She made this mama ache for a new little one to hold.

Congrats Cori and Rob!!! She is simply perfect.....

I had the chance to enter this gorgeous home in La Quinta to photograph the funnest family.

Karen asked me to come and capture their family at their vacation home.
They were so fun and darling!!!

I loved meeting their darling kids, Charlotte, Maverick and Penelope.

Is their anything sweeter than a little boy's love for his mother?

Then there was Miss Charlotte..... she hadn't been feeling well this day and was such a trooper through it all. Her stares were so intense, it felt like she was looking right into my soul. And her beauty is evident as well.

This is her sweet Grandmother. They have a very special friendship which was so evident as the day progressed.
